Available Horses
Our horses range in age and ability from young and competitive sporthorses, to older quiet trailmounts! Some of our horses have special needs, but most just had an unfortunate run of bad luck and need a new chance at a loving home. Our efforts are supported solely by donations, adoption fees, and LOTS of volunteer sweat.
Horses of all ages and abilities are available for adoption. Our horses are categorized as appropriate for beginner riders, intermediate riders, and advanced riders. We also have several horses that are not rideable, but would be great companion horses.
All of the horses listed below are currently available for adoption and are shown by appointment only. Please click here to schedule an appointment to meet one of our amazing horses!
Adoptions are strictly limited to a 4 hour radius of our location, as determined by GPS address to address.

Personality: Avalanche came to us with every bone visible. He is now an easy keeper enjoying the pampered life. He loves mounted archery as well as trail riding. He has even gone swimming and participated in a parade! This boy loves attention and will stand for hours to be groomed. Avalanche stands great for the farrier but has a lot of anxiety around injections. He would do best with a confident handler when the vet is present.
Foaled: 1997

Suitable For: Light walk work only(recently retired from trotting) for an advanced beginner rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Arthritis, past founder, front shoes, extreme allergies, and sweet itch

Personality: Cleo was a wonderful lesson horse for many years until she developed some arthritis that limited her abilities. She is still sound enough to continue a light job with some maintenance but should go to a home that has plans to retire her when she is no longer comfortable to ride. She is very quiet and loves going out for trail rides. She is strong at times which prevents her from being safe for a dead beginner. She stands nicely for vet and farrier work and loves to be groomed. She would be happiest having a stall with a fan during the hotter times of the year.
Foaled: 2001
Height: 17 Hands
Breed/Sex: Standard bred/Percheron X Gelding
Suitable For: Walk/trot for an advanced beginner rider
Limitations/Maintenance: EPM survivor and severe string halt
Adoption Fee: $500
Personality: Hudson is a retired NYC carriage and riding horse. He is as gentle and easy going as they come! He loves doing light arena work or going out on trail whether it be along bridle paths around the farm, or trailering off site. Hudson has even done a Christmas parade where he handled lots of commotion like it was nothing. This boy deserves a family to call his own!
Foaled: 1995

Breed/Sex: Belgian/Mule Mare
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an advanced beginner rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Mild arthritis, cushings disease, EPSM, and blind in left eye

Personality: Maggie May is a very easy ride out on trail but does not enjoy arena work. While she is advanced beginner safe on trail, she is in need of an advanced handler when it comes to injections and farrier work. She is pushy on the ground due to vision loss in one eye, but she is very sweet to be around in the field and loves being treated!
My care is partially sponsored by B. Liggio-Stevens. Thank you!!

Height: 17 Hands
Breed/Sex: Percheron Gelding
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an advanced beginner rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Minor hock arthritis and cushings disease
Adoption Fee: $600-Pending adoption
Personality: Shepherd spend many years giving lessons at a local riding barn. He retired from that life and is now happy to be a pleasure trail horse. Height: 17 Hands
Breed/Sex: Shire Gelding (Cut late)
Suitable For: Light walk/trot for an advanced beginner rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Cushings disease and arthritis
Adoption Fee: $500
Personality: Tyr is an absolute sweet heart on the ground. He loves being groomed and will literally fall asleep while tied. He is rather slow under saddle, but he does have an insecure moment here and there out on the trails that would be unsuitable for someone completely new to riding. He would do best as a light arena or trail horse for someone with a little mileage looking to brush up their skills or enjoy a leisurely trail ride once or twice a week!
My care is fully sponsored by E. Bloomfield and H. Chua. Thank you!

Personality: Adeo is a timid guy but does well with a balanced, confident rider! He goes w/t/c and will pop over logs on trail. He participated in our drill team for the 2018 Horse World Expo and handled the hectic environment very nicely. He also stands like a rock for body clipping! Adeo has hit the trails many times around the farm but will still spook at things he isn't expecting. He would make a fun project for someone willing to put some mileage on him! He is perfect for vet and farrier work as well.
Sponsored in full by David Z. Martin, MD. Thank you!!

Personality: Amble is a sweet teddy bear who loves attention, but he definitely knows his size on the ground! He does best being handled in a bridle. He has been trailered off the property for trail riding and horse shows and is quite the gentleman in new environments (in a bridle). He has an asymmetrical back that requires custom saddle fit or a treeless saddle, otherwise he can develop back pain.
Sponsored in full by G. Horsmon. Thank you!

Height: 16 Hands
Breed/Sex: Percho-Fino Mare
Suitable For: Walk/trot for an upper intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Front shoes, hock arthritis, and high ring bone
Adoption Fee: $500
Personality: Isabella is an absolute love bug! She was a New York City carriage horse, so she has a been there, done that type of personality. Since she was accustom to city life, some things around the farm tend to startle her, but she does come back easily from those moments. She is happy to ride in a bit or bitless and has the slowest, smoothest trot you’ll ever ride! She has been on trail rides on and off the farm, and is usually very quiet. She loves clicker training and has the most adorable treat face ever! This girl is a teddy bear and would love to have a family that will dote upon her!
Foaled: 2009
Height: 15 Hands
Breed/Sex: Sugarbush Draft (Appaloosa) Mare
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Dropped suspensory ligaments
Adoption fee: $800
Personality: Jinx is a highly intelligent and athletic girl. Unfortunately due to her poor hind leg conformation, she would not hold up to any extensive riding or jumping, but she would love to have a job as a low level dressage or trail horse. She is a forward but smooth ride. She does have an occasional spook out on trails, but she is not hard to bring back. Jinx is great for vet and farrier work as well. She recently competed in her first western dressage show and handled the new hectic environment with ease! She has also been off the farm for a four day clinic with Buck Brannaman and handled every aspect beautifully. She even got a compliment for how well she executed the tasks he gave!

Breed/Sex: Haflinger Mare
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an upper intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Weak stifles
Adoption Fee: $800
Personality: Pandora is a spunky lady who always thinks she’s the boss! She is very brave on trails and loves it! Pandora is also pretty good for arena work and recently attended her first dressage show where she took home third place! She would benefit from a slow, but consistent riding program of gentle hill work and/or trotting poles to strengthen her stifles. She needs a confident and firm rider to keep her from taking over, but once she has established a bond with someone, she tries very hard to please them!
Foaled: 2008
Height: 14.1 Hands
Breed/Sex: Haflinger Mare
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an upper intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Back sensitivity
Adoption Fee: $600
Personality: Peaches is as sweet and athletic as they come! She has loads of potential as a dressage or event pony but needs lots of mileage. She is EXTREMELY sensitive to saddle fit and placement. If her saddle slides forward at all due to her awkward shape, she will buck. She is nervous in new situations but does well with a confident and balanced rider/handler. She has been off the farm for trail rides and is very well behaved. She stands nicely for vet and farrier work as well!

Personality: Pilgrim is a sweet boy who enjoys attention and trail rides! He is generally lazy and easy going but will throw a buck in the canter from time to time due to hind end weakness. He has been trail ridden extensively on and offsite but does have an occasional spook that would intimidate a green rider. Although he is quite round, he does have a lot of athleticism that could be used in many different disciplines!
Foaled: 2003
Height: 13 Hands
Breed/Sex: Welsh Cross Gelding
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an upper-intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: No limitations
Adoption Fee: $600
Personality: Pony Boy has a very distrusting personality, but he warms up to those who wish to gain his affections through consistency. He has a lot of potential and needs to find "his person" who is willing to put time and patience into the relationship. He has been started over fences and logs out on trail, and will require a balanced, confident, and tiny rider. Pony Boy would also be a really nice companion for any horse as he gets along very well with others. He actually ended up at our rescue because he was very attached to a draft horse in the Orange County impound!
My care is sponsored by Nancy in memory of Mom. Thank you.

Personality: Rowan is a really sweet boy who loves to trail ride on and off the farm. He’s been to lots of different trail sites and is never fazed by a new place. He does know his size on the ground but is generally only pushy if he gets worked up from being in a stall, or taken away from his buddies for too long. Rowan also gets along very well with others in a herd and tends to be a peace keeper!

Suitable For: Walk only(recently retired from trotting) for an intermediate rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Ring bone/side bone, arthritis, Lyme history, and symptomatic EPSM

Now that it has fused, he is much more comfortable and happy to get back to a light program again. He would be happy to take someone on light hacks around the farm!
Foaled: 2002

Breed/Sex: Percheron/Quarter Horse Geldling
Suitable For: Walk/trot/canter for an upper intermediate to advanced rider
Limitations/Maintenance: Mild hock arthritis
Adoption Fee: $600
Personality: Spartan is truly a social butterfly! While trail riding seems to be a little too intimidating for him, his potential is in the dressage arena where he shines. He loves any form of attention he can get and is very loving! He stands nicely for the vet and farrier! Spartan would also make the perfect companion to any horse as he is very social and playful with others and is easy to handle on the ground!

He has been a member of our drill team at both fairs and expos and handled the hectic environment with ease. He has also been off site for trail rides at local parks. She has done extremely well with positive reinforcement training to keep her focus during training sessions. She doesn’t steer the greatest in the arena but is getting better with each ride. She thoroughly enjoys trail riding but can’t seem to decide if she’d rather lead or be in the middle! She would do best with a confident rider and handler who will give her realistic boundaries as she progresses in her training. Personality: Linus has a very goofy personality. While he means no harm to anyone, sometimes his antics can be a little too playful around humans. He would do best with an experienced handler and rider. Linus is a pretty brave boy when it comes to trail riding, but we’ve had difficulty trying to get anything beyond a walk out of him because we cannot find a saddle that fits him quite right. We have decided to continue his training bareback for now until we can get him the best fit possible to ensure he is comfortable enough to trot and canter with us!

She has unlimited potential and would love a job, however, she does take a while to warm up to people. She does best with a very balanced rider knowledgeable in correct contact/connection as she can become very strong and forward when she gets nervous. She is not fond of jumping but would be happy doing low level dressage or trail riding.

Some days, he’s incredibly quiet and trust worthy of an advanced beginner rider, while other days, he is unfocused and difficult. He is never mean, but his spooky side can get the best of him sometimes. He does very well with a confident rider and is actually athletic enough to have a career as a low level dressage horse. Sailor also thoroughly enjoys hitting the trails and tends to relax a bit more outside the arena! Due to his back pain, he would do best with a rider that is less than 170 lbs.
